Why is this role important?The Senior Software Developer, Qlik Sense develops, operates, maintains, enhances, quality assures, and provides end-user support for Business Intelligence system solutions built using Qlik, ensuring alignment with CIHI standards, corporate priorities, and service excellence expectations.What you'll do
  • Develops, designs, tests, and deploys Qlik-based visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Provides, maintains, and enhances Business Intelligence products built using Qlik to ensure reliability, performance, and usability.
  • Coordinates and executes tasks related to Business Intelligence tool upgrades.
  • Provides visualization and design best practices, ensuring solutions adhere to CIHI standards, user experience guidelines, approved wireframes, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG 2.0 requirements, and bilingual (English/French) standards.
  • Executes operational activities related to incident troubleshooting, resolution, and scheduled product releases, and contributes to the optimization and automation of operational processes through an on-call rotation model.
  • Contributes as a project team member by providing input during requirements gathering, feasibility analysis, and solution design for new initiatives or system enhancements.
  • Analyzes and develops solutions to address software design issues and program deficiencies related to the maintenance of existing systems or the development of new solutions.
  • Performs unit, module, integration, and performance testing; identifies, triages, and resolves defects in a timely manner.
  • Provides end-user support for products within the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely issue resolution and knowledge transfer.
What you'll bring to the table
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Business Intelligence development, Qlik Sense development, data modeling, dashboards, visualizations, and reporting techniques.
  • Experience with data transformation, creation of QVD files, and set analysis.
  • Experience in application design, architecture, development, and deployment using Qlik Sense.
  • Experience administering Qlik Management Console, including security rules, task maintenance, extensions, streams, and applications.
  • Experience identifying and resolving performance issues through Qlik application performance tuning.
  • Experience using Qlik APIs to support system integration and web-based mashups.
  • Experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with AWS cloud stack is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Qlik architectural designs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and maintain a client- and user-focused approach.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Must comply with all CIHI workplace policies, including privacy and confidentiality.
  • Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
