Do you love a good negotiation, keep projects running smoothly, and take pride in preventing issues before they even appear?If so, Carlson Construction Group is ready to welcome a Contract Specialist to support one of our newest projects launching in North Vancouver. We're looking for a true self-starter-someone who's energized by joining a brand-new project, setting up processes and procedures from scratch, and becoming the go-to commercial support for the project team.This is your opportunity to be on the ground floor of something exciting. You'll help shape how the site operates, support the project team through key commercial decisions, and keep all contractual wheels turning behind the scenes.What You'll Be DoingContractual Support
- Review and interpret a wide range of agreements-from equipment rentals to NDAs to major procurement contracts.
- Identify risks early and guide the team through commercial decisions.
- Strengthen contract templates and draft clear, concise language.
- Support negotiations, disputes, and commercial challenges with confidence.
- Track all tender opportunities and ensure deadlines never sneak up.
- Maintain detailed logs for awarded and pending projects, including milestones and key dates.
- Keep all commercial documents organized, compliant, and easy to find.
- Maintain audit-ready files and strong version control.
- Coordinate insurance and bonding requirements for new projects.
- Manage renewals and ensure all certifications are in place.
- Draft and review commercial documents.
- Support communication and coordination during negotiations and contract execution.
- Prepare clear reports and updates for leadership.
- Monitor compliance with contractual and commercial requirements.
- Flag risks early and recommend solutions.
- Help build and refine commercial workflows for this new project site.
- Make templates, documentation, and procedures more consistent and user-friendly.
- 5+ years of contract administration experience, ideally in construction
- Knowledge of CCDC, CCA, and consultant/service agreements
- Strong understanding of contractual terms, insurance, and bonding
- Excellent communication, writing, and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization
- Collaborative mindset and strong relationship-building skills
