The Junior Environmental Site Assessor will complete field work and reporting to support site investigation and remediation projects across Ontario.Your Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support on a variety of projects including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling and support in the office on client deliverables relating to Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Phase II ESAs, remediation programs, and hydrogeological investigations.Review health and safety and project requirements/work plans and travel to project sites as required to execute field programsConduct field work, including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, working individually, as part of a team, and/or with contractors on project sitesSupport project managers and coordinators with analyzing and interpreting field and analytical data, and report preparation in accordance with current provincial and federal requirementsComplying with health and safety and quality management protocolsYour Capabilities and CredentialsEnergetic, team-oriented professional with a close attention to detailAbility to work with minimum supervision and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel remotelyWorking knowledge of field sampling techniques is preferredWilling and able to travel and periodically work extended hours (including up to 12-hour days and occasional weekends depending on project requirements) and work outdoors in inclement weatherDemonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping health and safety a priorityProficient verbal and written English communication skillsExperience with MS Office software suite (Word, Excel, O365 Applications etc.)Possess a valid G driver’s license and have access to a vehicle to complete the required field assignmentsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, environmental science or related fieldPrevious co-op/internship in a role with related work experienceP.Geo. or P.Eng. registration or eligibility would be considered an asset for this positionTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
