CNC Machine Operator

- Be aware of the hazards when working around CNC machines and any other tools or equipment used in the area;
- Be aware of all safety control measures and guards used to eliminate those hazards, and have a responsibility to ensure that they are used at all times without exception;
- Be familiar with the start up and shut down procedures for the machine.
- Perform the daily, weekly, and periodical maintenance that is done to keep the machines in good working order;
- Having a general knowledge of veneer species, cuts, and different matching patterns are a requirement of workers in the CNC department.
- Having an awareness of the quality standards for the CNC area is a requirement;
- Know how to stack product being unloaded from the machines so debris or chips in between the layers won’t damage it.
- Product moving through the production process should be accompanied by a work order package to provide detailed instruction as to what has to be done to that product;
- Have a knowledge of using small tools,(files, pliers, utility knife, digital caliper, screw drivers, hex wrenches, chisels etc…)
- Basic computer skills are a requirement.
- Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
- Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.
- 1-2 years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop,
- Previous experience as a CNC machine operator.
