- Responsible for assembling components in the powertrain category in accordance with OEM specifications, standard hours, and quality metrics
- Must be capable of assembling powertrain components with minimal supervision
- A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 7 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered.
- Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C.
- Previous experience working on heavy equipment powertrain components
- Understanding of powertrain components
- Understanding of proper torquing procedures
- Capable of operating basic service tools as well as all critical analog measuring devices including dial bore gauges and micrometers is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions.
- Completion of any automotive or HD technician apprenticeship training is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.
- This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday – Thursday - 10 hours per day
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
