- Providing administrative assistance to the manager(s) and overseeing the department office operations.
- Coordinating meetings and conference room bookings, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining housekeeping to ensure a smooth workflow and safe working environment.
- Arranging overtime coverage for Radiation Protection personnel.
- Preparing requisitions for quotes and/or purchase orders.
- Participating in internal and inter-departmental initiatives to improve work processes, policies and procedures.
- Making travel arrangements for department employees, including flights, hotel and rental car reservations, coordinating destination information to ensure smooth travel.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- Successful completion of secondary school (Grade 12) with 2 to 4 years of related experience, or a college diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Office Administration) and one year of experience.
- Experience
- Experience working with MS Outlook, MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HTML for website updates) as well as office equipment such as laser and colour printers, photocopiers and scanners.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of administrative-based theories, concepts and principles used to provide administrative support to the department manager.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected-sensitive information.
- Knowledge of administrative best practices, and current standards in order to help ensure that policies, procedures and processes are followed and the department is compliant.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- This position is part of the USW 4096 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW 4096 Collective Agreement.
