- Coordinate inbound and outbound trucking for Startec C&P and vendor-fabricated components.
- Coordinate outbound logistics for final client projects across North America and international destinations.
- Oversee the safe, compliant, and damage-free loading and unloading of all inbound and outbound equipment.
- Assist with and oversee the packing and preparation of loose equipment and materials for shipment.
- Ensure all freight moves align with production schedules, project timelines, and client delivery commitments.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and logistics reporting.
- Monitor carrier performance including on-time delivery, responsiveness, and damage prevention.
- Maintain freight cost visibility and support cost reporting to SCM leadership.
- Provide warehouse and logistics support to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support accurate receiving, staging, and movement of materials within the shop.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
- Participate in daily, monthly, and annual inventory maintenance and stock replenishment activities.
- Support material requests and ensure transfers are approved, accurate, and properly documented.
- Maintain a smooth and efficient flow of materials from vendors through fabrication to final client delivery.
- Coordinate efforts daily with Purchasing, Production Leadership, Project Managers, Quality Control Inspectors, and shop personnel to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations, Incoterms, and client contractual shipping requirements.
- Support import/export compliance and regulatory adherence for domestic and international shipments.
- Ensure shipping documentation accuracy including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and export documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for reporting, accounts payable, shipment tracking, and audit readiness.
- Ensure SDS documentation and hazardous material handling requirements are properly followed.
- Identify and recommend improvements to logistics workflows, warehouse organization, and shipment preparation processes.
- Support KPI tracking, reporting, and analytics to improve visibility of logistics performance.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and Supply Chain initiatives.
- Liaise with Procurement, Production, and Engineering departments to support operational efficiency and material flow improvements.
- Provide responsive support to internal stakeholders and assist with logistics-related customer inquiries as required.
- Promote Startec Compression & Process core values, mission, policies, and operational standards.
- College diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience in logistics, materials management, or warehouse operations will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse operations, freight coordination, and materials management within a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating domestic and international freight shipments, including carrier scheduling, shipment preparation, and documentation management.
- Working knowledge of freight documentation, customs documentation, Incoterms, and import/export compliance requirements.
- Experience monitoring and supporting logistics performance metrics such as on-time delivery, freight costs, carrier responsiveness, and damage prevention.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft NAVISION and/or D365 preferred) in a logistics, warehouse, or inventory management capacity.
- Strong understanding of inventory control practices, material handling procedures, and warehouse organization standards.
- Forklift certification and practical material handling experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting, tracking, and data analysis.
- Ability to analyze workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced production environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Procurement, Production, Engineering, Quality Control, and Project Management teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping, documentation, and shipment preparation.
