Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.This position provides mechanical engineering and operational support within a processing facility, with a focus on equipment reliability, asset integrity, and mechanical system performance. This is a full-time, site-based opportunity suited for an engineer with experience in heavy industrial or mineral processing environments.Work Schedule: 2 weeks on-site / 2 weeks off-site. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to Saskatoon for the charter., camp provided.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate equipment performance, condition data, and failure trends to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to rotating equipment (pumps, motors, conveyors), piping systems, and fixed plant assets .
  • Lead or support root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and implement corrective and preventive actions .
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime, maintainability, and lifecycle performance .
  • Support and drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, and design packages for mechanical upgrades, repairs, and plant modifications.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination for maintenance activities, shutdowns, and small capital projects.
  • Participate in change management processes (MOC), ensuring mechanical design integrity and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams on equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Contribute to asset management strategies, including inspection plans and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support hazard identification (HAZOP/JHA) and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all mechanical designs and field work.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operations and maintenance personnel on mechanical best practices.
  • Actively contribute to site safety programs and foster a strong safety-first culture.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working in an industrial setting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering may also be considered with suitable industrial and project experience.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • Preference given to those with experience working at an industrial facility.
  • Previous experience working within MOC programs would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of codes, standards and best engineering practices as applied to mining and milling applications is considered an asset.
