Primary Responsibilities:
  • Enhance Environmental, Health and Safety awareness throughout the bakery
  • Partner with the Bakery Leadership team to provide guidance and technical support on issues relative to health & safety programs, polices and initiatives
  • Ensures all safety and environment incidents are thoroughly investigated for root causes and corrective or preventative actions that may be required.
  • Provide motivation, training, coaching, support, inspiration and direction to a diverse work force
  • Establish and sustain positive employee engagement through effective communications with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems
  • Organize and assist bakery supervision in execution of safety meetings.
  • Maintain training records to ensure compliance
  • Conduct Health and Safety Audits as required
  • Assist in Management of Change requirements
  • Conducts workplace inspections to proactively identify and control hazards; prepares required documentation and ensures follow up
About You:
  • Post-Secondary education from an accredited institution
  • CRSP Designation (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) is an asset
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of self-motivation, set priorities within established guidelines and work independently
  • Ability to work in an environment that values cross-functional cooperation
  • Passionate and desire to work and learn about the food manufacturing industry and innovation
  • Ability to work in a start-up and team-based culture, working as a team to deliver outstanding results
  • Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset
  • Bright, driven and clear about your future career goals
  • Roll up your sleeves mentality with a whatever it takes mindset to get the job done
  • Exceptional problem solving mindset with an ability to tackle difficult problems in a logical way
  • Travel to other sites in Ontario as required
