Working under the supervision of Maintenance Team Leader, in the Maintenance Department, the Millwright is responsible for the repair, installation and troubleshooting of industrial machines and equipment. The Millwright is responsible for ensuring the proper service of equipment and machinery necessary for the consistent on-time creation of product that meets all quality standards, satisfies customers, while completing all activities with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself. The Millwright may serve as a trainer on specific equipment and/or processes and assist in the development of departmental and functional guidelines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Repair, install and troubleshoot CNC and other numerically controlled industrial machines
- Able to evaluate, prepare and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Troubleshooting/repairing/installing of wood processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
- Plan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data
- Identify and report hazards and fulfill all Health and Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements
- Participate in LOTO in the workplace
- Collaborate with Management, Engineering and vendors regarding machinery/equipment specifications and set-up
- Actively support with the training of apprentices and junior maintenance associates
- Assess parts needed to repair equipment, create purchase requests
- Follow MillerKnoll disposal procedures for proper disposal of items
- Follow all shop floor controls
- Perform required quality inspections and report non-conform parts immediately
- Ensure all production and safety related issues are communicated to the Maintenance WTL/Manager and appropriate Operations WTL
- Follow all MillerKnoll safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, working environment according to 5s principles and department safety guidelines
- Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures
- Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process

Education/Experience
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
- Licensed Millwright, certified to work in Ontario as an industrial millwright
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; Machine shop experience
- Strong knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics and hydraulics, and hands on experience with high-speed machines required
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data
- Intermediate to advanced CNC and servo systems knowledge (preferred)
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocol
- Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Knowledge of MS Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal)
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a high attention to detail
- Must be able to complete work tasks that require strong manual dexterity
- Must be able to stand while working for long durations of time, up to three (3) hours at a time
- Physical lifting ability up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Must be able to perform duties while wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as determined by MillerKnoll’s Health and Safety department
- Must be able to perform in an environment with high levels of exposure to manufacturing noise, dust and heat
- Ability to work in multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends, as required
- Must have flexibility to work varied hours and overtime to meet production requirements
- Willingness to cross-train in various areas and/or department as required
- Must be willing to actively support with the training of junior Millwrights and Maintenance associates
- Able to work in a team environment and support a culture of respect and trust
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and lead others through change
- Must have the ability to diligently follow processes and procedures with minimal supervision
- Able to take initiative to solve problems, where appropriate
