The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A will be a key business partner to divisional teams and will be responsible for consolidated budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and ad hoc analysis for the business.
  • Foster and develop strategic business partnerships with divisional Finance counterparts and operational leaders.
  • Take ownership over the annual budget and quarterly forecast process, including consolidating division submissions, performing analysis to understand trends, as well as preparing presentations with commentary and supporting schedules.
  • End to end accountability in responding to ad hoc questions from leaders. Translate questions to analysis and produce analysis that drives decision making.
  • Ability to communicate financials and operational impacts into language relevant for senior leadership.
  • Consolidate monthly results versus budget/forecast to facilitate management reporting & presentations, providing analysis and investigation of variances.
  • Provide proactive analysis to identify trends, opportunities and risks in key performance drivers.
  • Work closely with Division Finance teams to understand and address the drivers and root causes of results.
  • Support quarterly reporting to Board of Directors and external MD&A.
  • Develop top to bottom profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow projections for the Canadian Central Office division with a focus on understanding the inputs and drivers of the business' financial performance
  • Take a lead role in development of new processes and new reporting to better understand cash flows month to month and budget vs. forecast
  • Be a leader of systems process optimization by working with Canadian divisions as well as US counterparts to identify, communicate and implement best practices across the divisions

  • CPA designation
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant position - real estate experience is preferred
  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Solid grasp of impact of transactions/decisions on financial results at the financial statement line item level.
  • Results orientated with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new software packages and experience with JD Edwards an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills including regular use of functions, pivot tables, etc.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity
