Our client is a recognized leader in heavy lift and engineered transport solutions, supporting complex industrial and infrastructure projects across Canada. The organization partners with clients in energy, petrochemical, power generation, infrastructure, and heavy industry to deliver safe, technically sound lifting and transport solutions for critical projects. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to create and grow new business opportunities for heavy lift and engineered transport projects in Sarnia and the surrounding industrial corridor. This role is focused on identifying upcoming projects, building strong client relationships, and positioning the company early in the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is comfortable selling high-value, technical, project-based solutions and understands the dynamics of industrial project environments.What you will be doing:
Business Development & SalesIdentify and develop new business opportunities for heavy lift and engineered transport projectsProactively engage with EPCs, plant owners, contractors, and industrial clientsPosition the organization early in project planning to influence scope and lift strategiesBuild and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on medium to large-scale projectsSupport bid and proposal development in collaboration with engineering and operations teamsClient Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencersAct as a trusted advisor by understanding client project requirements and constraintsAttend client meetings, site visits, and industry eventsEnsure a smooth transition from sales to operations once projects are awardedMarket & Opportunity DevelopmentMonitor market activity across refining, petrochemical, energy, infrastructure, and heavy industrial sectorsTrack upcoming shutdowns, turnarounds, capital projects, and maintenance programsProvide market intelligence and competitive insights to leadershipInternal CollaborationWork closely with engineering, project management, and operations to develop safe, competitive, and executable solutionsAlign client expectations with technical capabilities and operational capacitySupport continuous improvement of sales processes and CRM disciplineWhat you must have:5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project development within industrial services, heavy equipment, or construction-related sectorsExperience selling technical, project-based solutions (heavy lift, crane services, engineered transport, industrial construction, or similar)Strong understanding of industrial markets in Southwestern OntarioProven ability to generate new business and develop long-term client relationshipsComfortable engaging with engineering, project, and site-level stakeholdersStrong communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsWillingness to travel locally and regionally as requiredPreferred BackgroundExposure to heavy lift, crane operations, or engineered transport environmentsExperience working with EPCs and major industrial end usersTechnical or engineering aptitude is considered an assetKey CompetenciesHunter mentality with a relationship-driven approachStrong commercial and strategic thinkingAbility to understand and communicate complex technical solutionsSelf-motivated, disciplined, and results-orientedHigh standards for safety, professionalism, and integrityOther Information:
