Replacement PositionPrincipal Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of multimedia drivers on different OS such as Android, AGL, QNX, hypervisors
- Design and implement low level video encoding and decoding drivers on Qualcomm HW
- Working on multimedia frameworks such as codec2, Gstreamer, OMX etc
- Closely collaborate with product owners and domain/technology experts to define the specifications, lead the software design/implementation, and integrate/validate software in a larger system.
- Actively engage with Automotive OEMs, Tier-1s and ISVs to implement solutions based on of Qualcomm Automotive platforms.
- 4+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.
- Hands on experience with embedded systems and RTOSs on ARM CPUs, with a focus on Linux and Android. Linux kernel knowledge is high recommended.
- Solid hands-on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms.
- Strong programming experience in C/C++ , as well as hands-on experience debugging complex embedded software.
- Experience using industry standard development tools - e.g. tool-chains, IDEs, configuration management etc.
- Ability to contribute to all phases of software development architecture design, implementation, validation and deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with engineers, partners and customers, and across the different geographical sites, timezones, and technology domains.
- Demonstrated embedded system software development experience including kernels, device drivers and board-support packages.
- Linux and Android multimedia software stack such as Android HAL, ALSA, V4L2, GLES, Wayland, WFD, Codec2. QualCOMM SoC multimedia application/driver development experience is very helpful
- Experience designing complex fault-tolerant safety systems and designing in accordance to industry standard specifications (eg. ISO26262, ASPICE).
- Working knowledge of operating systems like Linux user mode and kernel mode and other RTOSs
- Knowledge of virtualization methods and implementation on ARM bases systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.
- Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
- Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
- Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
- Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
