- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees across unionized and non-unionized groups.
- Review and validate employee hours with Human Resources (HR) and internal administrators prior to payroll submission.
- Enter payroll adjustments including deductions, earnings, and retroactive payments.
- Maintain payroll spreadsheets and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs) and respond to government payroll inquiries.
- Administer garnishments, benefit deductions, and retirement savings plan adjustments.
- Produce payroll reports for internal departments and leadership.
- Coordinate special payroll runs and electronic fund transfers when required.
- Assist employees with payroll access, questions, and pay-related concerns.
- Maintain employee payroll records and onboarding documentation.
- Support union payroll reporting and remittance requirements.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes including T4 preparation and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, remittances, and statutory deductions.
- Experience working with payroll software systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees and external agencies.
- Minimum 2-5 years of full-cycle payroll administration experience.
- Experience processing union payroll is considered an asset.
- Experience managing government reporting, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrates high accuracy when reviewing payroll data and calculations.
- Organization: Effectively manages recurring deadlines and multiple payroll priorities.
- Communication: Provides clear, professional support to employees and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Investigates discrepancies and resolves payroll issues efficiently.
- Independence: Works with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
- Compliance Focus: Understands and follows payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
- Compensation will reflect experience, payroll exposure, and certification progress.

- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
