Join the Island Gold District team and be a part of the long-life mining operations, as we prioritize our employee growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability.PurposeThe Bolter & Drilling Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and service activities on mechanized bolters, jumbos, production drills, and blockholers. This role ensures optimal equipment performance both in the field and in the maintenance shop.Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and service calls.
  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs on bolting and drilling equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and component rebuilds, including feeds and booms.
  • Diagnose faults using computerized and manual testing tools; determine repair requirements.
  • Create accurate work orders, parts lists, and repair time estimates.
  • Complete Time Confirmation Entry in SAP
  • Collaborate with drill specialists to maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain mechanical service vehicles in clean, organized, and optimal condition.
  • Assist other mechanics as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Attend required product training courses to enhance troubleshooting skills.
  • Ensure all tools are returned to the tool crib daily.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and proactively address hazards.
Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate proactive safety practices for self and team members.
Technical Requirements
  • Journeyperson trade certification in a relevant field.
Minimum 5–6 years of heavy equipment repair experience (mining equipment preferred).At least 2 years of experience with mechanized bolters.Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without supervision.Physical capability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces.Proficiency in troubleshooting and adapting to technological changes.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Structure:Reports to: Maintenance SupervisorDirect Reports: None7 day on/ 7 day away rotationAlamos Gold Inc. may use artificial intelligence to initially screen or assess applicants for this position with respect to mandatory job requirements.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
