Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and process-driven Production Coordinator to oversee daily shop floor activities and support production flow. This role will work closely with the Scheduler and shop personnel to ensure that work orders are executed efficiently, materials are prepared in advance, and machine cells are properly scheduled.This position plays a key role in coordinating communication between departments and ensuring production readiness through structured processes and visual tracking systems.Key Responsibilities
  • Issue and release work orders to the shop from the MRP system
  • Maintain, track, and support execution of the production schedule
  • Coordinate machine cell scheduling and workforce allocation alongside the Scheduler
  • Oversee shop floor activities to ensure production readiness
  • Coordinate with material stager, material handlers, and machine setup personnel to ensure materials and equipment are ready prior to production
  • Maintain and update visual whiteboard systems used to track production orders
  • Work closely with Purchasing to confirm materials are available ahead of scheduled production
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on production status
  • Support continuous improvement of shop floor processes and workflow systems
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong understanding of production flow and scheduling processes
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
