YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:Support the organization on the key processes of international trade compliance by providing accurate product classification in a fast pace context, applying efficient controls and corrective actions to maintain best in practice compliance practices.Support BRP product classification across all regions NA, EMEA, LATAM & APAC .Provide technical information to support government audits and official requests worldwidePrepare documentation to support strategic decision-making process, among BRP stakeholders but also before authorities in the regulation and definition of the legal framework applicable to our productsBe part of a team of dynamic and passionate professionals influencing the way people moveYou will also be responsible for :Managing the team:This includes overseeing daily operations, scheduling, and ensuring team members have the resources they need.Setting goals and strategies:Team leads work with team members to establish clear objectives and develop strategies for achieving them.Delegating tasks and providing direction:They assign tasks, provide clear instructions, and ensure team members understand their responsibilities.Monitoring progress and providing feedback:Team leads track the progress of work, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.Facilitating communication and collaboration:To encourage open communication, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive team environment.Motivating and coaching team members:Inspire and support team members, helping them develop their skills and achieve their potential.Define, review and monitor product and material classifications provided by our business partnerDetermine BRP classification of finished goods, part & accessories, components and raw materialParticipate in the documentation process to answer requests from customs authorities such as CF28, CF29 from CBP, but also from CBSA, SAT, and worldwideSupport directives and initiatives from strategy classification to ensure BRP complies with ADD/CVD, based on classification, origin and open casesPrepare technical documentation of Tariff Classification to support BRP analysis, considering alternative end use, functionalities and technical featuresInfluence and support regional classification compliance strategiesSupport multiple compliance factors such as origin and marking determination, applicable rules of origin for free trade benefits, management of surtaxes, exclusions, classification updates, etc.YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:Bachelor’s degree in business, international commerce or any other related fieldHigh level of understanding/expertise of customs environment, distribution and manufacturing.3 - 5-years of specific experience, in customs brokerage with classification expertiseStrong technical skills in the field of Canadian Customs Compliance as well as US Customs Compliance, especially in HS Classification, Mexico expertise is an assetCurrent Canadian CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation is an assetEngineering knowledge or understanding is an asset, specially in the automotive and other vehicle industryVery good understanding of trade compliance terminologySelf motivated and high level of autonomyCapacity to manage stress, high volume requests, and walk the extra mile to get the work doneHigh level of computer skills; including extract of data between various software packages.
