- Analyze real estate market and capital market conditions, including supply-demand dynamics, economic trends, comparable transactions, and competitive positioning.
- Build and maintain investment models, including development proformas, including cash flow projections, capital structures, and return analyses.
- Run scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess risk and return and support investment decisions.
- Develop clear investment theses that outline key value drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Turn financial and market analysis into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making
- Drive the execution of acquisitions, developments, and recapitalizations from initial evaluation through closing.
- Play a key role in driving due diligence, including the review of legal, financial, and technical materials and the identification of key risks and considerations.
- Build, refine, and maintain investment models to support underwriting, transaction structuring, and financing decisions.
- Prepare clear and compelling investment memoranda that articulate the opportunity, key assumptions, risks, and returns.
- Partner closely with internal teams (development, fund and asset management, leasing, and property management) and external stakeholders (capital partners, lenders, legal counsel, appraisers, and consultants) to advance transactions and investments.
- Support and participate in presentations to, and discussions with, key external stakeholders and CBP executive management, helping communicate investment opportunities, key assumptions, and strategic recommendations.
- Help shape and improve investment models and processes to strengthen team performance and execution.
- Analyze asset performance against underwriting assumptions and strategic objectives, identifying key risks and opportunities.
- Prepare investment and portfolio reporting for leadership, lenders, and capital partners.
- Experience – You bring 1–5 years of experience in real estate investment, real estate finance, private equity, or a similar analytical role. We are open to candidates across this range, with scope, responsibilities, and level of ownership aligned with experience.
- Education – You have a strong academic foundation in a relevant field (e.g., Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics), or equivalent experience that sets you up to thrive and grow quickly in this role.
- Market Insight & Investment Thinking – You’re naturally curious about markets and driven to understand what moves them. You analyze supply and demand, competitive positioning, and transaction activity, while keeping a close eye on capital and financial market trends, and how they shape investment strategy.
- Financial Modelling & Data Fluency – You’re as comfortable building models as you are interpreting them. Leveraging advanced Excel skills, you develop and refine investment models that withstand scrutiny and help drive informed decisions. Experience using programming or analytical tools to analyze data, generate insights, and communicate them clearly is a strong asset.
- Analytical Mindset – You are detail-oriented and analytical, with a strong ability to break down complex problems and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
- Communication – You can tell the story behind the numbers. Whether in writing or conversation, you communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
