For those who dream big and push boundaries on the ground and in the stars to change the world for the better, we’ll take you there.We’re on the search for a Mechanical Technician on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.Role:Working in the Process and Automation group, the mechanical technician will be involved in setting up automatic stations for assemblers. He/she will provide technical support on the floor for existing systems and their debugging. They will also work closely with automation engineers to implement new systems.Responsibility/Tasks:
  • Assemble or modify test models and experimental setups from specific instructions or under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Perform a variety of tasks including installation, repair, testing and maintenance of equipment, subsystems and systems.
  • Participate in testing under the supervision of senior technical personnel.
  • Record results of tests or experiments.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Assist higher level personnel with other tasks.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of time and cost estimates
  • Research and recommend parts or components for special tests and test fixtures.
  • Participate in the programming and start-up of automated equipment sequences using the software provided.
  • Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our health and safety rules.
  • Perform other related tasks.
Minimum qualifications required:
  • College diploma or equivalent diploma in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or related field based on assignment.
  • A combination of other experiences/education that is relevant can be considered.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience, based on assignment.
Schedule:
  • Training day schedule (Monday to Friday 7:00 to 3:00pm)
  • Evening (Monday to Friday 3:00 to 11:00pm with possibility of doing schedule of 4 days on 5)
  • Week-end (Friday to Sunday 7:00 to 6:30pm).
