As our Lowboy Dispatcher, you’ll be the first point of contact for customer requests and the coordinating force behind our Equipment Hauling Trucks (Lowboys). - Be the hub: Coordinate daily with the Lowboy Foreman and outside Teams, dispatch, and track equipment moves across the Greater Edmonton area.
- Champion safety: Model and promote Goal Zero and continuous improvement initiatives to keep everyone safe.
- Keep moves on track: Learn load combinations for all lowboy trucks, use FleetWatcher to monitor units in real time, and ensure operators have everything they need to work efficiently.
- Collaborate and communicate: Work closely with Forepersons and Superintendents to resolve questions or issues quickly and professionally.
- Own the admin: Enter time for the Trucking Division in HeavyJob, generate invoices for inter‑unit billing, and uphold all company and regulatory policies.
- Customer-first mindset with resilience when handling changing priorities and requests.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail and reliability.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of Greater Edmonton roadway networks and transportation regulations.
- Comfortable with business software: Outlook, FleetWatcher, HCSS, Excel, Word, and similar tools.
- Valid Class 5 licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Assets: familiarity with construction equipment and processes; strong numeracy; fluent English (written and verbal).
- This role is seasonal - operating from mid-April to mid-November depending on weather.
- Fast-paced environment with tight timelines and deadline pressures.
- Primarily office-based; ability to sit for extended periods.
- Core hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
- Flexibility to respond to important calls in the evening or early morning.
- Availability to work Sundays and holidays as required.
