Job DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?Seeking an experienced QE AI Lead who can balance hands-on technical excellence with team leadership. This role combines active testing and automation work with leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers. You'll drive quality initiatives, establish testing strategies, and ensure your team delivers exceptional results while remaining engaged in critical testing and automation activities. This role is a 90% hands-on role.What will you do?Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and career development supportDefine and implement QA strategies, standards, and best practices across the organizationDesign, develop, and oversee automated test frameworks using industry-standard toolsAllocate resources and prioritize testing efforts based on project needs and risk assessmentConduct hands-on testing for critical features, complex scenarios, and architectural decisionsEstablish and monitor quality metrics, providing regular reports to stakeholdersDrive continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes and methodologiesFacilitate collaboration between QA, development, and product teamsLead root cause analysis for critical defects and production issuesReview and approve test plans, test cases, and automation scripts created by team membersManage test environments, test data strategies, and testing infrastructureChampion quality culture and advocate for testing best practices across the organizationCoordinate release testing efforts and provide go/no-go recommendationsIn this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwideWhat do you need to succeed?Must-have:Strong experience with AI/ML tools for testing and evaluationsExpert-level programming skills in Python with 5+ years automation development experience8+ years of hands-on software testing and automation experience3+ years in a leadership or team lead roleDeep understanding of testing methodologies, AI Testing, SDLC, and Agile practicesProven experience leading and mentoring QA teams onshore and offshoreAdvanced experience with test automation frameworks and toolsStrong leadership and people management skillsExperience in developing QA strategies and implementing process improvementsProficiency with version control (Git), CI/CD tools (Github Actions)Expertise in API testing and performance testing toolsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience with resource planning, capacity management, and project estimationNice-to-have:Post Graduate degree in Data Science.Cloud-related experience.What is in for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
