- Extensive experience delivering a diverse portfolio of projects and programs in an urban environment, including design and construction of trails, vehicular and pedestrian bridges, erosion control and slope stability analysis, natural environment restoration, flood control, shoreline protection, and other special projects and facilities.
- Proven experience supervising, motivating, coaching, and developing a team of capital project delivery staff, including unionized employees, while effectively managing a complex work program that requires prioritization to meet competing and often conflicting deadlines.
- Extensive experience in Councillor consultation, preparing Council and Committee reports, delivering executive-level briefings, and fostering strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Councillors, the public, community groups, consultants, TRCA, schools, contractors, developers, and external partners.
- Extensive experience in preparing Requests for Proposals, construction tenders, technical specifications, cost estimates and stakeholder consultations.
- Significant experience in contract change management, negotiating change orders, managing claims, and overseeing complex delivery agreements.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and interact at all organizational levels.
- Superior analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and deliver effective solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant approvals, permits, acts and regulations, including but not limited to building permits, site plan approvals, building code, easements, Construction Act, Planning Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act.
