Our team works very closely with these client groups and strives to provide value added analysis that helps advance the business of the groups we support. The Data Analyst and Reporting Tools Developer reports to the Manager, Reporting and Analysis, is responsible for the planning, design, development, and deployment of new reporting database tools as well as the enhancement of existing reports and database reporting applications.Research and analyze current reporting and business data needs. Provide ongoing status reports and prepare detailed documentation of tools and reporting proceduresDevise and implement tools to automate and streamline processes that achieve efficiency for both business and finance usersDesign and implement reporting databases and applications utilizing data from relational databases, various 3rd party applications or flat file sourcesDesign and perform testing for data integrity and application performanceMaintain and re-engineer existing Business Intelligence, Access and Excel based reportsPerform data cleansing and manipulation, working with multiple disparate data sourcesThe Skills You BringStrong analytical and multitasking skillsSolid communication skillsExcellent problem solver demonstrating the ability to work independentlyStrong project management skillsSkilled in process re-design and re-engineeringKnowledge of MS Access and Excel reporting techniques, and RPA applicationsKnowledge of VBA programming in both MS Access and ExcelWho We’re Looking ForUniversity Degree (computer science, information science, management information systems, business administration, or finance), or equivalent work experience3 - 4+ years of experience working with relational or multidimensional databases and SQL coding and managing high level stakeholdersExperience performing complex business analysis, including data flow analysis and modelingStrong skills in VBA programming, Access, Excel, RPA applicationsExperience with current enterprise reporting applications (e.g., Business Objects, OBIEE, PowerBI, Snowflake, Tableau) would be considered an asset and is preferredExperience working within the financial industry and/or the custody and clearing business is an assetFidelity Canada is an equal opportunity employerFidelity Canada is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
