- Determine the extent of repairs and perform mechanical repairs accordingly by ordering necessary parts.
- Adjust, repair and\or replace the defective parts manually or with appropriate tool.
- Try the equipment repaired making sure repairs are performed correctly according to manufacturers’ procedures.
- Clean, grease equipment and perform other required maintenance.
- Respect the times established to make the repairs.
- Inform the Operations Manager of all the repairs required on the unit and of any concerns the customer may have.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Write up time sheets and job descriptions on work performed.
- Keep track of time and mileage on repair jobs.
- Assure that old parts are disposed of properly and warranty parts are clean and stored in its proper place.
- Tools are clean, kept in proper condition and place both in the shop and service vehicle.
- Give estimates for repairs when requested by the customer.
- Working in conjunction with the Sales and Parts Representative.
- Participating in training and upgrading both in-house and outside the company.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Must be certified with a Mechanical Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair (Red Seal)
- Minimum of 5.5 years of experience
- Must have pertinent experience with construction equipment or equivalent equipment and knowledge of Komatsu products preferable
- Computer literacy would be an asset (MS-Office), autonomous, team spirit customer service oriented
