- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plant electrical, instrumentation, control, and analytical systems
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults using industry‑standard diagnostic techniques and equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, logic diagrams, and blueprints
- Support and maintain PLC and DCS systems (Siemens experience considered a strong asset)
- Assist with loop tuning, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Use HART / TREX communicators, multimeters, meggers, pneumatic calibrators, and related tools
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to EH&S, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations as required
- Interface effectively with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and external technical support teams
- Provide technical support during turnarounds, outages, and plant upsets
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using SAP
- Contribute to plant reliability, asset integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support training or technical assistance at other Canadian or U.S. facilities as needed
- Dual Ticket Certification:
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician and
- Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal required)
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to work on‑call and overtime in a 24/7 operation
- Industrial plant maintenance experience (petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas, power generation, or manufacturing environment preferred)
- Experience with Siemens DCS/PLC systems or other distributed control systems
- Strong understanding of PLC logic and industrial automation
- Proven troubleshooting, fault isolation, and problem‑solving capabilities
- Proficiency using SAP PM, Microsoft Office, and industrial maintenance systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary maintenance team
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and safety‑focused mindset
- Continuous process manufacturing environment
- Exposure to plant operating conditions requiring appropriate PPE
- Occasional travel to other Canadian or U.S. sites for training or operational support
