Job Description:As the Category Manager- Logistics, you will serve as the global point of contact for all logistics vendors and transport modes (air, ocean, road, courier, and parcel) on behalf of URUS. You will manage the full vendor lifecycle-from contract negotiation and pricing through operational execution and continuous improvement. You will bring both strategic oversight and tactical execution, ensuring URUS's global logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant.Vendor & Relationship ManagementAct as primary liaison for all logistics vendorsLead vendor performance reviewsNegotiate contract terms, service agreements, and vendor compliance in collaboration with Legal and ProcurementFreight Procurement & Cost ManagementLead sourcing, RFPs, and tender processes for global and regional logistics servicesEvaluate vendor pricing proposals and recommend vendor selectionsTrack and analyze logistics spendSupport Finance with logistics accruals, budgeting, and cost variance reportingOperational Logistics OversightOversee day-to-day performance and execution of all logistics modesCoordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely shipment executionMitigate escalations/issuesDrive continuous improvement in delivery performance, transit times, and service reliabilityReporting, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementMaintain centralized records of logistics contracts, tariffs, and service agreementsMonitor and report on vendor KPIsEnsure compliance with trade regulations, import/export requirements, and URUS's sustainability policiesIdentify and implement initiatives to optimize supply routes, consolidate shipments, and reduce logistics costsLeadership & CollaborationAct as the logistics SME within the global procurement and supply chain functionsLead cross-functional logistics initiativesProvide guidance and support to regional logistics coordinators and operational teams on a global scaleRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field required10+ years of relevant experience in supply chain operations, logistics, warehousing, or purchasingAdvanced analytical skills with proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., JDE) and Microsoft ExcelExperience managing global vendor accounts and supporting commercial operationsFamiliarity with pricing governance, contract execution, and financial controlsPrior experience in agricultural technology, manufacturing, or B2B distribution (an asset)Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Legal, Customer Service, Logistics)Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across global teamsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilitiesSolid understanding of international and domestic logistics processes, including transportation management, inventory planning, customs regulations, and trade compliance
