The sessional instructor will teach the online elective course Information Citizenship (INFO 2000) in the 2026 Fall term. The online course will be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor.Responsibility for all aspects of teaching and administering the asynchronous course on the Brightspace website, including recorded lectures in Panopto, assignment preparation and evaluation; availability for two hours per week for consultation with students; update syllabus to include ever-changing material on information theory.All instructors report to the Director of Information Programs.
Qualifications/Requirements of PositionPhD in Information Science, Anthropology, or Sociology or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching large undergraduate class, asynchronous is required. Previous experience supervising a team of teaching assistants required. Previous experience teaching INFO2000 - Digital Citizenship or INFO2001 Digital Society is required.All offers of employment as a part-time academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the courses and approval by the University.
Salary Range/Pay Rate $8,260 per course (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement)
