- Works cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and implement business performance improvements and growth initiatives.
- Builds business cases and financial models to support the investments for both core business development activities as well as corporate development activities such as acquisitions, and Vantage Futures including cost-benefit analysis, internal rate of return profile and investment committee materials.
- Provides quantitative and qualitative analysis and risk assessments on potential acquisitions and business development projects.
- Conducts analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, cash flow projections, business forecasts and reports on key performance indicators.
- Participates and leads due diligence for prospective investment targets including financial, commercial diligence and requests as needed and acts as point of contact for assigned internal and external stakeholders.
- Supports the Director, Corporate Finance & Strategy on the corporate strategy process and works with Senior Executive team to build out functional strategies and plans to drive alignment through organization.
- Proactively analyzes financial information and prepares and delivers presentations and reports that enhance financial performance.
- Provides analysis of financial implications of business activities and brings forward recommendations to enhance financial performance.
- Conducts research, competitive analysis, benchmarking, and assists in the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reporting to drive informed decision-making.
- Analyze financial and operational information relating to potential investments and portfolio companies, e.g. company metrics, financial results, growth rates, market share.
- Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate finance, corporate development, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and/or corporate venture capital/venture capital.
- Demonstrated end-to-end experience in business case development on investments and acquisitions, including due diligence, financial modelling and developing investment committee materials.
- Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder is considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and cross-functionally with impacted stakeholders.
- Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail while at the same time understanding the broader strategic imperative.
- Outstanding communicator with an ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to diverse audiences both verbally and in written materials; comfortable in business and technical discussions.
- Detail-oriented and solutions-driven self-starter who takes pride in developing and presenting high-quality, timely results.
- Proven expertise in building and managing complex financial models and performing valuation analyses.
