- Assist senior fire protection specialists in the design, analysis, and evaluation of fire protection systems for various projects.
- Conduct research and gather data related to fire protection codes, standards, and regulations applicable to project requirements.
- Perform system calculations and simulations to assess fire hazards, predict fire behavior, and optimize fire protection strategies.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications for fire protection system designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire protection measures into overall project designs.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and meetings with clients to understand project needs and address technical inquiries.
- Stay updated on advancements in fire protection technology, industry trends, and best practices.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of fire protection engineering, including fire dynamics, suppression systems, and detection methods.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NFPA, ULC, and national model building codes.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in fire protection engineering is desirable but not required.
- Eligibility to obtain professional engineering licensure or certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's licence.
