This position offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience to kickstart their career in the dynamic field of fire protection engineering.   • Assist senior fire protection specialists in the design, analysis, and evaluation of fire protection systems for various projects.
  • Conduct research and gather data related to fire protection codes, standards, and regulations applicable to project requirements.
  • Perform system calculations and simulations to assess fire hazards, predict fire behavior, and optimize fire protection strategies.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications for fire protection system designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire protection measures into overall project designs.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and meetings with clients to understand project needs and address technical inquiries.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fire protection technology, industry trends, and best practices.

The ideal candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles of fire protection engineering, including fire dynamics, suppression systems, and detection methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NFPA, ULC, and national model building codes.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in fire protection engineering is desirable but not required.
  • Eligibility to obtain professional engineering licensure or certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's licence.
