Join the team that truly designs with community in mind.Your Opportunity We are looking for a civil engineering student to complete a 4 month internship within our Community Development team in London, commencing May 2026.As a civil engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to learn and expand your engineering skills within a supportive team atmosphere. Our intern student will be provided coaching and guidance by senior engineers and technologists while completing meaningful tasks required for a project’s success.Your Key Responsibilities As a civil engineering intern, your responsibilities may include:Acting as an on-site observer for active construction projects. Duties include:Interacting with contractors, surveyors, and City of London inspectorsCross-referencing engineering drawings to surveyor gradesheets and contractor productCommunicating on-site issues to the office and assist with problem solvingPreparation of construction documents including quantity takeoffs and cost estimatesAssisting designers throughout various stages of drawing production.Erosion & Sediment Control ReportsDesign and review sanitary, storm and water networks in support of the designerUsing AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare figures and to complete designer tasksDrafting emails, letters, memos, and technical reportsUnderstanding and implementing Stantec’s policies, framework, and safety cultureYour Capabilities and Credentials- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take initiative when faced with a problemStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work independently or in a team environmentProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Requires understanding of basic AutoCAD and Civil 3DA strong dedication to continuous improvement and professional developmentPossession of a valid Class “G” driver’s licenseEducation and Experience- Actively progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related fieldTypical office environment working with computers and working at a desk.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.   • $23.37 - $32.07 Hourly
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
