- Contribute to all phases of engineering projects including concept development, detailed design, construction, and commissioning activities
- Perform specification, sizing, and selection of electrical equipment and components
- Liaise with third-party contractors and vendors during the procurement of materials and equipment
- Manage electrical vendor packages, including:
- Development of package specifications
- Preparation and maintenance of Supplier Document Register Lists (SDRLs)
- Review and acceptance of vendor documentation
- Attendance at Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Ensure project schedules and client-approved budgets are effectively managed and met
- Prepare detailed cost, schedule, and resource estimates based on client-supplied scopes of work
- Ensure all designs, analyses, and specifications comply with applicable electrical codes, statutory regulations, Wood procedures, offshore installation-specific design philosophies, and industry best practices
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team to deliver large-scale projects for clients
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Sustainability (HSSES) requirements within the Electrical discipline, in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
- Travel offshore as required to support surveys, construction, and commissioning activities
- Currently authorized to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered, or eligible for registration, with Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL)
- 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Experience working on offshore energy projects
- Knowledge of national and international electrical codes and standards
- Experience in electrical design for hazardous area environments
- Heat trace system design experience
- Experience designing electrical systems at the following voltage levels:
- 120/208 VAC
- 600 VAC
- 4.16 kV
- 13.8 kV
- Experience using ETAP or similar electrical system modeling and analysis software
- Must pass a CAPP medical and site-specific drug and alcohol test
- Must be willing and able to complete all required training for travel offshore
