This department leads the City's long term infrastructure planning for growth and renewal, and establishes Engineering Policies and Standards. In addition to infrastructure-specific work, CAM leads and advances asset management initiatives for all corporate assets, ensures compliance with the Provincial asset management regulation and participates in coordinating the City's corporate capital plan.Under the general guidance and direction of the Senior Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Planning, the Water/Wastewater Planning Technologist position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Infrastructure Master Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, and other growth-related studies. In addition, the position supports ongoing asset management and infrastructure planning.As part of a team, this position leads studies and analysis for the expansion, reconstruction or modification to municipal water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure systems. This includes analyzing and evaluating the performance of existing and future infrastructure and assessing the need for future infrastructure required to support growth. This position undertakes detailed technical analysis, technical input and review, project coordination and project management.   • Three (3) year College Diploma in Civil or Environmental Engineering Technology, or a related discipline

Knowledge/Skill/Ability
  • General knowledge of the following legislation, regulations, or requirements: Sanitary Sewage Collection System Policies and Design Guidelines (MECP); Storm Drainage and Storm Water Management Policies and Design Guidelines (MECP); Municipal Class Environmental Assessment; Ontario Safe Drinking Water Act
  • Working knowledge of the following principles and standards: Stormwater Management and Drainage Design, including modelling; Mapping and GIS; Wastewater Collection System Design and Operation; Water System Design and Operation.
