Quality Assurance Technician (Mon-Fri - 3pm - 11:30pm)

- Perform quality checks at Press.
- Inspect the Press Log, press and retain samples on an on-going basis.
- Assists with color matching on Press using Xrite Exact.
- Assists with troubleshooting on Press.
- Verification of line clearance.
- Communicates via email to Customer Service, Shipping, Scheduling and Production, variances and shortages.
- Create and update color standards as needed.
- Perform quality checks at Rewinding and Seaming.
- Review the UPC and Pharma code testing completed by the Press Operator.
- Review the Wind, Core tag and visual inspection testing completed by the Rewind Operator.
- Review defects noted by the Rewind Operator and randomly audit by performing a 100% re-inspection of all labels.
- Perform and record the required customer quality tests.
- Verification of line clearance.
- Ensure daily verification of rewinder count is completed.
- Communicates via email to Customer Service, Shipping, Scheduling and Production, variances found and shortages.
- Collects and files job retains.
- Internal nonconformance reporting.
- Training of Operators of new and revised OPLs, processes or procedures.
- Variance Reporting.
- Report on Shortages
- Document daily activities on QA Process Inspection Checklist.
- Daily Reporting to QAM and Production of inspection findings.
- Collect defect samples.
- Collect samples for Customer Service, Sales, and Prepress departments (as requested)
- Report Supplier Nonconformances and collect nonconforming samples.
- Daily audit of retain samples and document findings on Retain Samples Inspection Checklist.
- Assist in internal and external nonconformance investigations.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Assist in incoming inspection activities.
- Assist in the calibration program.
- Training of Operators.
- Assist in the implementation of 5S in the area
- Maintain the area as per the 5S

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); college degree in a related field preferred.
- One year or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year or more of experience working in a manufacturing environment, printing, packaging, or folding carton experience preferred.
