About the roleJoin the Infrastructure and Operations team in the Senior Specialist, Database Administrator (SQL Server / Azure SQL) position. You will be responsible for supporting the stability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure services across on-premises and hybrid environments. You will act as a senior technical authority providing hands-on expertise, leading complex operational support and modernization initiatives, and ensuring infrastructure services remain reliable, recoverable, and aligned with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and ITSM standards.What you will do:

Operate, administer, and support MS SQL and Azure SQL database platforms.
Proactively monitor, analyze, and optimize infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability to prevent service disruptions.
Lead and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and problems, acting as a senior technical escalation point and performing root cause analysis in accordance with ITSM practices.
Plan and execute infrastructure lifecycle and modernization initiatives, including platform upgrades, workload migrations, and data center or cloud-adjacent transformations.
Provide expert technical input into the design and implementation of new infrastructure capabilities, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and operationally viable.
Implement and maintain security controls, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery capabilities, including testing, validation, and vulnerability remediation.
Develop and maintain automation, tooling, and technical documentation to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and resilience.
Collaborate across IT teams, provide mentorship and knowledge transfer, and act as a trusted technical advisor contributing to continuous improvement and service excellence.

What you should have:

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent of education and/or experience can be considered.
A minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise IT database administration roles.
A senior-level, hands-on expertise , databases administration, optimization and support.
Experience supporting on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (incident, problem, change).
Advanced troubleshooting and scripting/automation skills (e.g., PowerShell) with strong communication ability.

Technologies:

Compute & Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, hyperconverged platforms (e.g., Nutanix)
Storage, Backup & Databases: Enterprise storage and backup solutions; MS SQL Server, DB2, Azure SQL

It would be great if you had:

Experience supporting regulated or security-sensitive environments, with ITIL or equivalent service management exposure.
Exposure to cloud platform operations and integration with on-premises infrastructure.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and infrastructure standardization initiatives.
Industry certifications in infrastructure technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Azure, networking, backup, or database platforms) are considered as assets.
