- Work with the Site Superintendent to ensure high levels of Health & Safety are established and adhered to and health and safety incidents are investigated.
- Establish a cohesive team alongside the Site Superintendent, Trades and office-based teams. Handle all subcontractor interactions in a manner designed to build long-term relationships.
- Undertake regular site inspections and prepare associated reporting.
- Complete all activities with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Ensure a high standard of workmanship at all times.
- Lead the mobilization and set up of the construction site working closely with the Project Manager, and Project Coordinator, Liaison between trades, venders, suppliers and client, and client reps.
- Monitor job progress and costs while providing regular progress reporting to management.
- Resolve all client concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Provide feedback to management on all design, workmanship and sub-contractor performance and initiate suggestions for company wide improvements.
- Assure that design specifications are attained.
- Research and maintain a high degree of knowledge related to technology, construction practices and new standards.
- You have a construction related degree or diploma with between five and ten years of interior and exterior construction experience in the Mid / High Rise Residential sectors and Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) sector or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Finishing Superintendent in the Residential and ICI sectors. Specifically, relevant experience as a Finishing Site Superintendent with multi-storey, residential and institutional project experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- You have a working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software.
- You have a good working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, and building materials.
- You enjoy leading and directing the activity of site personnel, planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels and material quantities and ensuring proper equipment and trades are available as required.
- You hold the appropriate credentials in health and safety training - ex. Working at Heights, First-Aid, Basics of Supervision.
