Project Duration: 6 months to start with potential extensionIntroductionWe are seeking a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in Dell object storage and archive technologies to lead a major migration initiative for a top-tier international bank based in Toronto. This role will focus on architecting and driving the migration of a significant volume of data from on-premises Dell storage platforms into the AWS cloud.Required Skills & Qualifications
- Deep, recent hands-on experience with all three core Dell technologies: Dell ECS, Dell Data Domain, and Dell Networker.
- Proven experience leading or architecting large-scale data migrations, ideally at petabyte scale.
- Experience working in high-security, highly regulated environments; banking experience strongly preferred.
- Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to work through restricted-access technical workflows.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to steer technical direction while collaborating across teams.
- Willingness to travel to Toronto if onsite system access is required.
- Prior experience working at Dell or with Dell’s professional services teams.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud storage services, such as S3, Storage Gateway, or large-scale cloud migration tools.
- Experience managing or migrating large-scale storage archives (petabyte-to-exabyte environments).
- Background in media, entertainment, or large unstructured data environments.
- Experience working within systems integrators or consulting roles.
- Understanding of bank culture, compliance expectations, and data governance frameworks.
- Ability to provide light knowledge transfer if needed (not required).
- Lead the migration of data from on-prem Dell ECS, Dell Data Domain, and Dell Networker systems into AWS.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for migration architecture, planning, and execution.
- Work within a production environment where uptime, accuracy, and security are critical.
- Provide deep technical knowledge of Dell ECS, Dell Data Domain, and Dell Networker.
- Ensure architecture decisions follow best practices and align with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers and infrastructure engineers; AWS knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Ensure all migration activities comply with strict security, governance, and regulatory standards.
- Interface directly with the bank’s technical teams, providing clear communication, documentation, and technical guidance.
- Work closely with a project team including PMs, sales leads, cloud engineers, and infrastructure engineers.
