What you will doAs a Senior Accountant you will be required to:
- Apply KPMG's auditing and accounting practices and methods to client engagements.
- Work closely with Managers and Senior Managers.
- Lead the audit from planning to completion.
- Perform external audits for publicly traded companies listed on the Canadian Stock Market.
- Lead field engagement teams and act as a mentor to junior staff.
- Perform analysis of complex accounting issues.
- Test internal controls.
- Perform financial and systems analyses.
- Establish and maintain good client relationships.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation
- 2 to 3 years of experience working in an accounting firm
- Experience using IFRS is mandatory and other financial reporting standards is an asset
- Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment
- Effectively monitor complex projects on a regular basis to check the progress against deadlines and budget
- Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional in the performance of duties
- Ability to use a range of techniques to analyze an issue
- Proficiency in English is required for this position. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders at KPMG Canada, located outside of Quebec. This necessitates the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
