Duration: 10 MonthsOrganization OverviewThe organization is a strategic entity supporting Canada's upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sector. It is funded by governments and regulators and operates under a collaborative governance model involving multiple stakeholders.The organization supports the exchange and management of key royalty, regulatory, and commercial information for various government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.It provides services that facilitate fast, standardized, secure, and accurate management and exchange of volumetric, royalty, and commercial data associated with the petroleum sector through a web-based application. Key services include:
- Mission-critical processes supporting the assessment and collection of Crown royalties
- Information to support provincial regulatory mandates
- Services enabling industry commercial activities
- Supporting day-to-day application operations and change management as an SME and tester
- Contributing to multi-stakeholder projects including requirements design, testing, and implementation
- Engaging with stakeholders, committees, and internal teams
- Maintain deep knowledge of the system and reporting functionality
- Participate in change management forums
- Analyze, prioritize, and document change requests
- Provide business rationale and impact assessments
- Document defects and support solution design
- Support end users with guidance and issue resolution
- Perform and document acceptance testing and provide sign-off
- Provide end-user perspective in solution design
- Engage SMEs for workshops and discussions
- Review and validate design documentation
- Support industry readiness and communication planning
- Develop training materials and readiness documentation
- Coordinate change management activities
- Work with third-party vendors on system interoperability
- Support data conversion and validation activities
- Execute acceptance and end-to-end testing
- Support industry committees and stakeholder meetings
- Gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities
- Participate in cross-jurisdictional discussions
- Contribute to planning and roadmap initiatives
- Experience with petroleum-related reporting or regulatory systems
- Experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Strategic thinking with strong execution skills
- Professional certification (e.g., CAPPA)
- Criminal background check required
- Mandatory training (security, information management, workplace policies, etc.)
- Degree in business or related field + 2 years BA experience
- Diploma + 4 years BA experience
- Certificate + 5 years BA experience
- OR 6 years BA experience
- 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise IT environments
- 5 years of experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning and execution
- CAPPA certification
- 2 years experience creating training and documentation
- 3 years experience in system support and data management
- 5 years experience working with stakeholders
- 5 years experience in government or regulated industries
