- Planning, organizing, and working with technical groups in the delivery of project requirements.
- Design of bridges and facilities for public and private infrastructure including roadways, heavy rail, light rail, pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and buildings.
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, providing leadership, technical direction, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Involvement in project management of structural engineering projects.
- Ensure projects are well managed and controlled, and meet required performance, safety and business standards.
- Act as a technical lead and engineer of record for bridge projects, providing expert guidance on all technical aspects of the design process.
- Develop, review, and approve technical designs, reports, and specifications for a variety of projects.
- Prepare of construction cost estimates, ensuring accurate budgeting and financial management throughout project execution.
- Support and contribute to strategic initiatives, and long-term business growth goals.
- Lead business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and identifying new project opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Transportation design standards and other relevant local, provincial, and national guidelines and codes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive team environment, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Mentoring and development of technical staff.
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized and accredited University in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- P.Eng. registered with APEGA, or eligible for professional registration in Alberta.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in structural engineering and design software, with a focus on bridge design and project management.
- Experience with Alberta Transportation design standards, specifications, and deliverable requirements for bridge and roadway projects.
- Strong technical expertise in bridge design, including structural analysis, material selection, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communicator and skilled problem solver with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is paramount.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to support and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Business development experience and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships is highly desirable.
