We offer an inclusive and accessible work environment where all employees and customers feel valued, respected, and supported.Here’s the job opportunity…The AVP, Regulatory Compliance Management, Sagicor North America is a new vacancy, and this role is accountable for designing, building, and leading a comprehensive Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) program for North America. This includes transforming the RCM framework to meet jurisdictional requirements such as OSFI E13, developing policies and procedures, managing regulatory risk, and ensuring effective implementation and oversight. The role involves leading change management, engaging with regulators, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering timely, accurate compliance reporting. In this role you will be responsible to:
  • Develop and implement a robust RCM program meeting all jurisdictional requirements including control design, testing and issue management.
  • Build and monitor KPI reporting to monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of the RCM program.
  • Implement a testing program that is scalable, and risk based.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure timely communication of changes to stakeholders.
  • Oversee and maintain policies, procedures, controls and risk assessments related to the North American RCM Program.
  • Aggregate and analyze RCM data to identify trends, patterns and areas requiring attention.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Chief Compliance Officer, highlighting noncompliance, control weaknesses and remediation efforts.
  • Prepare detailed board reports on the effectiveness of the RCM program as per the board schedule.
  • Liaise with and build strong relationships with operational management to ensure compliance responsibilities are understood, embedding a culture of compliance within the business units.
  • Develop and maintain honest, transparent and strong relationships with regulators.
  • Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead with purpose, fostering a collaborative and engaged team that is motivated to deliver on its purpose.
What we are looking for…
  • Extensive compliance experience, ideally with progressive roles within a compliance team with a focus on RCM.
  • 10+ years of compliance and RCM experience
  • A Diploma or university degree in a relevant area of study is an asset
  • An ability to cultivate and build collaborative working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong negotiating and analytical acumen
  • Legal or professional designation is an asset
  • Strong operational skills to plan for RCM testing and reporting on a regular, recurring and complete basis.
