Job Description:
  • Structural Analysis:
Perform static, dynamic, and fatigue analysis of aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Finite Element Modeling:
Create and refine finite element models (FEMs) for detailed stress analysis.
  • Load and Stress Calculations:
Extract loads, stresses, and material data from drawings and specifications.
  • Sizing and Design:
Conduct sizing of primary and secondary structural parts to meet static and fatigue requirements.
  • Joint Analysis:
Perform detailed analysis of joints and fasteners, including calculating reserve factors for various failure modes.
  • Certification and Reporting:
Prepare stress certification dossiers and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Problem Solving:
Identify and implement solutions for potential structural issues, such as low reserve factors or buckling.
  • Collaboration:
Work with design, loads, and certification teams to ensure a robust and safe design.
  • Testing:
Develop and interpret test results to validate analytical models.
  • Software Proficiency:
Utilize software like HYPERWORKS, PATRAN, NASTRAN and hands on design softwares like CATIA.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.5 to 10 years of experience in structural stress analysis within commercial aircraft development programs.In-depth knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fatigue and damage tolerance methodologies, and material behavior.Proficient in industry-standard tools: NASTRAN, Patran, FEMAP, HyperMesh, Abaqus, or equivalent.Strong background in FAR/CS-25 structural requirements and compliance documentation.Experience preparing and reviewing certification-level reports (stress, fatigue, DTA, compliance matrices).Proficient in interpreting loads models, structural drawings, and manufacturing constraints.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience interfacing with certification authorities.Is proficient with Microsoft Office Tools.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a full life-cycle civil aircraft development program (from concept through certification and production).Familiarity with scripting (VBA, Python, MATLAB) for automation or data processing.Previous interaction with FAA/EASA and working knowledge of the certification process.Experience with aircraft OEMs or major Tier 1 suppliers.Department:Transportation (NAM) AssociateSkills Required:Structural Analysis, Stress Analysis, NASTRAN, PatranDesignation:Associate
