Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and elevate the AP function. This is not a sit-back role. This is for someone who wants to build structure, strengthen controls, support project teams, and create efficiencies in a high-volume construction environment.You will oversee subcontractor and supplier payables, support month-end, improve processes, and partner directly with operations to ensure job cost accuracy and strong vendor relationships.Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team
Oversee full-cycle AP for subcontractors and suppliers
Ensure accurate job cost and general ledger coding
Manage high-volume invoice processing and approvals
Review and manage holdbacks, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
Monitor AP aging and ensure timely, strategic payments
Support month-end close including accruals and reconciliations
Strengthen internal controls and documentation standards
Drive practical process improvements and efficiencies
Assist with cash flow planning and vendor payment scheduling
Partner closely with Project Managers to support cost trackingQualifications and pre-requisites:
5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, ideally within construction or project-based environments
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of job costing
Experience managing subcontractor payments and holdbacks
Advanced Excel skills
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working on-site
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyAdditional information or perks:
