- Post-secondary medical secretarial or health office administration diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Registration and health record knowledge are an asset
- Patient scheduling knowledge an asset
- Data entry and accuracy required
- Medical terminology is required
- Recent ward clerk experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
- Ability to function effectively in clinical areas with rapid pace and fast turnover
- Working expert knowledge of data entry in Cerner preferred
- Knowledge of all hospital computer software and MS Office preferred
- Demonstrated reliability, dependability and adaptability
- Familiarity with Hospital office equipment such as: lab printers, addressograph, telephones and companion phones, fax machines, scanners and photocopiers
- Effective communication and organization skills and ability to transition and manage a constantly changing environment
- Self-directed individual who practices confidentiality and discretion in patient/record contacts
- Excellent attendance record
