Job Description:Client Operations SpecialistToronto, ON | Hybrid (4x a week in office)Base salary: $70,000-$80,000The OpportunityOur client, a growing and well-established investment management firm, is seeking a Client Operations Specialist to join their team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the full client lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution of account activity, operational accuracy, and regulatory compliance.You will act as a key liaison across Client Relations, Portfolio Management, custodians, and internal teams, helping to deliver a high-touch client experience while maintaining strong operational controls.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day client account operations including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account updates
  • Coordinate incoming/outgoing asset transfers, account closures, and client offboarding processes
  • Administer fee structures, including setup, adjustments, and account closing fees
  • Set up and maintain recurring payment schedules (e.g., RRIF/LIF distributions)
  • Monitor account liquidity and partner with trading teams to support cash requirements
  • Maintain accurate client records and distribution lists to support reporting and communications
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of client reporting, including statements and tax documentation
  • Support onboarding, KYC/AML updates, and ongoing regulatory documentation requirements
  • Liaise with custodians and internal stakeholders to resolve operational inquiries and ensure timely execution
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and overall operational efficiency
Requirements:Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in client operations within investment management, wealth management, or a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of registered and non-registered account types (e.g., RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, LIF, corporate and trust accounts)
  • Experience working with custodial and portfolio management systems (e.g., NBIN or similar platforms)
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements including KYC and AML
  • High attention to detail with strong reconciliation and data accuracy skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Education
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • CSC (Canadian Securities Course) completed or in progress is considered an asset
