
Legal Counsel - Digital and Technology

- Advise on the business and products as well as advising on commercial contracts.
- Provide legal guidance to the broader digital business in all matters with key areas of focus being privacy and CASL, advertising and intellectual property matters.
- Draft and negotiate digital media and information technology agreements (including SaaS and software license agreements) digital product agreements (including mobile and software development agreements), and other commercial agreements.
- Collaborate, where appropriate, on matters such as researching and drafting corporate policies and mergers and acquisitions.
- 3 to 8 years’ experience since their Call to the Ontario Bar within a major law firm or corporate legal department;
- Good standing as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada;
- Experience in information technology law and privacy law;
- An inquisitive and positive attitude, sound judgement even in ambiguous situations and a strong interest in being a true partner and service provider to the business;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a closely knit and supportive team;
- Integrity and strong work ethic;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle competing demands in an extremely fast-paced and changing work environment; and a strong ability to collaborate and provide value added advice to the business.
