- Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated construction schedules in accordance with project requirements and corporate planning and scheduling standards.
- Set up project schedules, including development of the Schedule Preparation Plan, Basis of Schedule, and associated planning documentation.
- Integrate interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical activity sequencing for assigned disciplines or work scopes.
- Coordinate schedule development and updates with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the overall project execution plan.
- Develop quantity release plans, installation curves, and progress measurement bases for assigned disciplines or specialties.
- Review and validate quantity records to ensure completeness and accuracy of total quantities.
- Develop job-hour expenditure forecasts and support resource loading and levelling activities for assigned schedules.
- Perform quantity, manpower, and cost loading of schedules to support forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting requirements.
- Review schedule data and obtain necessary information to define work logic and interfaces between disciplines and work scopes.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), schedule coding, and project control structures, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Identify discipline-specific critical and near‑critical activities and understand their impact on overall project milestones and interfaces.
- Monitor schedule performance and deviations, including subcontractor schedule inputs, and recommend corrective actions or mitigation measures.
- Support planning for shutdowns, tie‑ins, and construction execution sequencing, as applicable.
- Perform schedule performance monitoring and control activities, including analysis of progress trends and forecast impacts.
- Prepare written schedule commentary for monthly progress reports and other required project reporting.
- Identify activities with critical or potential schedule impacts and prepare Schedule Impact Reports (SIRs) as required.
- Support invoice preparation and progress-based payment assessments using cost-loaded schedules, where applicable.
- Assist the Lead Planner / Scheduler with schedule re‑baseline development and implementation when required, including input to project re‑forecasting activities.
- Engineering degree, technical diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant planning and scheduling experience.
- Ongoing professional development in planning, scheduling, and project controls disciplines.
- Typically 6 to 14 years of experience in a planning and scheduling role, preferably within mining, industrial, or EPCM project environments.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and assume increasing levels of responsibility within project teams.
- Proven capability to support and lead schedule and planning system implementation during project initiation.
- Strong understanding of corporate planning and scheduling standards, with the ability to ensure compliance and prepare project-specific planning procedures and job instructions.
- Experience working across both home office and site-based project environments.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
