About the Opportunity
  • Oversee and manage all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, KPI reports, and other management reporting while ensuring adherence to GAAP and all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen compliance and improve operational efficiency. Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, provincial/state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Support annual financial audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Lead and execute key accounting projects, including financial statement automation, fixed asset system selection and implementation, and updates related to financial instrument accounting.
  • Oversee cost accounting and inventory management activities in partnership with operations teams.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A to support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis through accurate and timely financial data.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Conduct ongoing performance evaluations, annual reviews, and ensure adequate role coverage across the team.
  • Provide financial guidance and insights to stakeholders across the organization to support informed decision?making.
  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to assess their impact on the business.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent designation in accounting
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.
