Embedded in rural Alberta, the campus is home to approximately 900 students and offers bachelor's and master's degree programs offered by the U of A's Augustana Faculty and the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, respectively.Augustana Campus provides a distinctive learning experience characterized by close connections between students, staff and faculty and numerous opportunities for student participation in athletics, clubs and campus organizations. Students benefit from the advantages of a small campus while earning a degree from one of Canada's leading universities.PositionThe Chemical and Physical Sciences program at the Augustana Faculty has a sessional teaching vacancy for Fall 2025 to teach Organic Chemistry (AUCHE 250) I lab. The Fall 11-week term runs from September 22 to December 11. The lab is on Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.Duties
  • Consult with the faculty member teaching the lecture section about how the lab operates and fits within the class.
  • Work with the chemistry lab technician to set up and test equipment for the labs.
  • Coordinate with the chemistry lab coordinator as necessary.
  • Be available for student questions outside of the lab period.
  • Grade lab reports and assignments.
Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in chemistry or a related area.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence/potential at the post-secondary level.
