- Oversight of all file correspondence and discussions with clients and municipalities.
- Preparation of standard legal documents for real estate transactions and land development documents for subdivision developments, severances, and land development matters.
- Preparation and review of Agreements of Purchase and Sale and Conservation Easement Agreements.
- Prepare documents for residential real estate transactions including sales, purchases, and transfers.
- Conduct title and execution searches for review by lawyer.
- Preparation of documents related to Land Conservation, Severances, Easements and Title Corrections.
- Coordinating files with municipalities, surveyors, and planners.
- Close deals, register instruments and prepare final reports to client.
- Managing the physical and electronic client files in accordance with Firm policies and procedure.
- Interact with clients, placing a high value on relationship-building and exceeding expectations.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a law clerk/legal assistant in a similar role.
- Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing situations, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to think critically to solve problems.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to communicate with all parties involved in a real estate transaction.
- Effective interpersonal and client service skills, with strong initiative and ability to work independently under pressure and within a team environment.
- Some working knowledge with Teraview, Unity, LEAP and MS Office is considered an asset.
