Job Description:In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site atPlease Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before March 31, 2026As NAIT continues to grow its student body and lead the way in hands on learning, we are recruiting skilled and passionate individuals to help support current and future industry professionals and become a part of Canada's leading polytechnic.The Medical Laboratory programming area is recruiting for a temporary full-time Educational Technologist position to support our student labs.The position is responsible for laboratory support in the overall program delivery in Medical Laboratory programming. The position will procure specimens, create and modify in-house procedures, maintain equipment and inventory for student labs. This position will work within a team of Educational Technologists and directly with program Instructors and Instructional Assistants to support and aide in the success of student labs.There may be opportunities to support the Medical Laboratory Assisting program in the evenings.Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and prepare samples and resources for laboratory sessions
  • Create and maintain in-house procedures/documents for laboratory and sample preparation
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure laboratory success
  • Set up and take down of laboratory resources and equipment as required
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment/instrumentation to manufacturers' standards in compliance with program specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of, and communicate all maintenance service calls and follow-up
  • Provide advanced operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance support to the programs
  • Perform quality control procedures
  • Ensure work area and lab spaces are in a safe and clean condition
  • Assist in the ordering and sourcing of supplies and expendable items, and maintain related inventory records
  • Actively participate in business plan objectives as identified by the institute and school
  • Utilize regular feedback to identify and implement improvements
  • Engage in professional development activities
  • Attend staff meetings

  • Ability to lift 20- 45 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand and walk for 7.25 hours
  • Ability to physically perform standard medical laboratory work
  • Ability to work flexible hours and assignments
  • A solid working knowledge in a clinical setting, safety standards, and equipment operations and maintenance in the medical laboratory field
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized post-secondary institute
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of related experience is preferred
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA)
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Remuneration: $1,375.46 - $1,834.55 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
